Three European Melodies for Wind Ensemble (2 flutes, 2 Bb clarinets, *bassoon & *bass clarinet), arranged by Robert Porter.
(* the bassoon and bass clarinet parts are the same, so in theory you would only need one of them for the arrangement to work *)
The three titles are;
Kujawiak .... a lyrical and calm piece (often in a minor key), representative of the Kujawy landscape. Polish trad. (grade 2-3 standard)
La Paloma ........ this Cuban Habanera has ‘the dove’ motif (la paloma), which according to greek legend brings back a sign of love from sailors lost at sea. By Yradier (grade 4-6 standard)
Vltava (the Moldau)...... probably Smetana’s most famous tune, it describes one of bohemias great rivers. (grade 5-7 standard)
