Five easy Pieces for Wind Ensemble is designed to motivate young players with it’s choice of fun and interesting arrangements! The standard increases throughout the collection, so Old MacDonald is easy (grades 1-2 on all parts) and by the time we get to The Lincolnshire Poacher the standard has risen to grades 3-4. This allows a young group to see the progress they are making.
(i) Old MacDonald (ii) Bobby Shaftoe (iii) Brahms finale (from Symphony no.1) (iv) March (v) The Lincolnshire Poacher
Five easy pieces for Wind Ensemble is also flexible enough to facilitate any number of different combinations. You could simply use the arrangement for easy clarinet quartet, or perhaps have a more flexible line-up of wind instruments. The 4-parts can be played by the following instruments….....
part 1: flute, oboe, clarinet
part 2: flute, oboe, clarinet
part 3: clarinet, alto sax
part 4: clarinet, bassoon, alto sax
The recordings available are played only on the clarinet, but this should still give the listener some idea of the arrangement.
